Zhanat Omarova started the lesson saying the following: “Good afternoon dear English language learners! There are many young people in our country. Each of them has one’s own view point on their life and their future.”
Induction/warming up: useful expressions and phrases:
Zhanat Omarova: “Look at the screen. There are some useful expressions for you.”
- Students read and practiced their pronunciation.
The 1st video: “Teens talk about their family”:
Zh. Omarova: “In this video, teens talk about living with parents and siblings - the things they argue about and how they get along. Hear what these teens love about family, and what frustrates them.”
- Students watched the video.
Discussion: similarities and differences of the mentioned problems:
Zh.Omarova: “Now let’s discuss the video. Look at the screen. Let’s Discuss similarities and differences of the mentioned problems.”
- Students discussed and gave different answers to the questions.
Razia Zhaulybayeva: “Officially a teenager is a person aged from 13 to 19. In other words teenagers are people who are in the stage of their life when they are developing from children into adults. Adults often see the age between 13 and 19 as “difficult” Teenagers have problems at home with their parents, relatives. Every young person has his own point of view on his life and future. Teenagers are self-confident, like risking. So all of us want to try everything in the life, to grow up as soon as possible. The problem number one contains communication with each other. At teen age it’s so important to choose a true friend who can listen to you, support in any situation, and advise something useful. I think that the most difficult and serious problem of modern teenagers is drug addiction. Today millions of young people use drugs, and most of them die. Teenagers become net addicts and spend too much time with the computer. Do you have any problems in your life?”

Razia Zhaulybayeva: “Let’s watch the video about bullying.”
- Students watched the video.
Answer the questions:

Moldir Nursultanova: “Who is a teenager? A teenager, or teen, is a young person
whose age falls within the range from 13–20 .They are called teenagers because
- Students discussed the questions and some pictures.
Moldir Nursultanova: “This is unwanted and aggressive behavior. This behavior is repeated or has the potential to be repeated over time. This is attacking someone physically or verbally and excluding someone from group on purpose. And we call it “bullying”. Before we will watch the video, let’s do the preparation task first. Match the vocabulary with the correct definition.”

The 3rd video: ‘Cyber Bullying-Let’s Fight It Together’:
M. Nursultanova: “Let’s watch the video about Joe, who is a student and answer the question: Who helps him at the end?”
- Students watched the video and answered the question.
M. Nursultanova: “Check your understanding: ordering. Write a number (1–8) to put the sentences in the correct order.”
- Students received the task sheets and did the activity as a whole class.
M. Nursultanova: “How do you stay safe online? What would you do if you found yourself in a similar situation to Joe?”
- Students answered the questions.
To conclude the lesson R. Zhaulybayeva mentioned: “We enjoyed the lesson and your participation. We hope that you enjoyed this lesson too. What do you think of this lesson? Did you like it?”
