The theme of the open lesson: “Have got/ has got”
The aim: The grammar ‘Have got” and lexis. Develop children’s listening, speaking, writing, reading and drawing skills.
The methods of the lesson: individual, pair and grouping works, level learning.
The resource: interactive board, PB, AB, pictures and toys of animals, cards, CD (song), coloured pencils jigsaw puzzle.
The steps of the lesson
Good morning, dear pupils! How are you? I’m fine, thank you.
My dear friends, today we have unusual lesson because we have guests. First of all let me introduce the theme and aims of the lesson: grammar «have got» and brush-up your vocabulary by topics as: parts of the body, animals, numbers, colours and toys.
I Checking up our homework. Vocabulary revision.
II New theme. Introducing new vocabulary. Let’s learn some new words, please. Look at the screen and repeat the words after the speaker.
III Video time. I think it’s high time for video. Let’s enjoy it.
IV Game: Is this a ..?
The aim: To create good atmosphere by the game. Check memory.
I’m going to show you some things. Children, you close your eyes while I remove something from the table. Then you open your eyes acting very surprised because you discover what I have taken. Each pupil asks ‘Is this a .. ? (this is an oral game)
V Some practice. Make up possible word – combination: a big nose.
Let’s divide into two groups: adjectives and parts of the body. Make up all possible word-combinations. Don’t forget about article.
VI Colour competition: colour the picture
Read and draw (use the coloured pencils and A4 paper). Let’s divide into 3 teams. I’m going to give you pictures you must draw it using instructions on the right. Which team will finish first that one will become the winner.
VII Jigsaw puzzle: put together a jigsaw puzzle. Which team is quicker?
Pupils must do a puzzle and name the objects in the picture. The pictures of the 2 topics are shown on the board. I’m going to give you parts of pictures you have to build a full picture.
VIII Warming-up. Working with cards. As you can see there are 4 words: numbers, colours, toys and animals. Every word has its own figure when you see a word you must choose the right figure. For example: If you see an elephant you must pick up a star. F.e dog – animal, red – colour
IX Task: find a rhyme to a word. Can you find words that sound like? I have another task for you. Look at the slide. There are 9 words and 9 words in my hands. Your task is to choose the rhyme to each word. Every pupil goes to the board and stick only one word, then return to his seat. After this task I examine their works by the whole class.

X Revision. Guess the word according to the pictures. The students have to read aloud the sentences and complete them using prompts (pictures).
XI Competition. I need two pupils. There are a lot of cards, you choose one card and say sentence using “I have got a ..”. Let’s check your vocabulary. Your task is to say as many sentences as you can.
XII Tongue twister. Let’s train our tongues. Let’s read the following words after the speaker. Look at the blackboard and try to read tongue twisters! You must read as quickly as possible.
XIII Song: If you are happy and you know it. And now, pupils, it’s time to sing. Firstly let’s listen and copy new vocabulary, then we are going to sing the song “If you are happy”.
XIV Agree or disagree? Students this is an assignment for you. Each of you come to the board, read the sentence aloud and mark whether it’s true or false. I examine their works by the whole class.
Warming-up. Read the definition and try to guess the answer.

XV. Assignment: write the words according to their transcriptions.
It’s time for another job. Children you have to read transcriptions and write the words. Let’s show how well you can read.
XVI. Competition: touch. I need 2 pupils to come to the board. There are pictures on the slide. I name one object your task is touch this item. Who will be first gets a score.
XVII Puzzle. Find as many words as you can in the following puzzle
This is the last exercise for today. Can you say words in this crossword? Try go down (v) and across (->). Read the words aloud.
